Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr is known for his leadership in the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 till he was assassinated in 1968 at the age of 39.  His “I Have a Dream” speech is often quoted. Dr. King’s message that we don’t rid hate with hate, but with love is still greatly needed today! He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 35. He is honored each year on Martin Luther King, Jr Day (the third Monday in January) which lands near his January 15 birthdate.
