Abraham Lincoln was the 16th  President of the United States. He was born in 1809 in a log cabin in Kentucky. He married Mary Todd in 1842. He is known for his “Gettysburg Address” (11/4/1842), and “The Emancipation Proclamation” (1/1/1868). Lincoln was nicknamed “Honest Abe” after working as a store clerk where he gave a customer the incorrect amount of change, so he walked a long distance to give the proper amount.
